Locking Your Keys In The Car New Jersey!

It’s something that many of us have probably done at some point in time, locking our keys in the car. It’s not fun, and it creates quite a hassle, especially if you need to be somewhere. Although annoying, the problem can be fixed in more than one way. What should you do if you happen to lock your keys in your Kia Soul? The following tips will unlock the key to getting back inside your vehicle.

Call 911. If you are concerned about your safety and do not feel comfortable where you may be stranded due to locking yourself out of your vehicle, dial 911. Sometimes the police can unlock your vehicle, but if not hey can call a tow truck for you.

Call roadside assistance. There are several organizations to choose from for roadside assistance, AAA and Allstate are two of them. Also, many new cars come with roadside assistance included in the warranty package. Be sure to keep the number stored in your phone or on a window sticker so it doesn’t get locked in the car with your keys.

Call for a tow truck. If you do not have roadside assistance you can call a tow truck as most provide lock out services. Dial 411 for local tow truck companies.

Get a temporary key. Sometimes your local New Jersey auto dealer can provide you with a temporary key that can unlock your door but not start your vehicle, giving you access to your keys locked inside. You will most likely need your VIN (vehicle identification number) and proof that you own the vehicle.

Keep a spare key. Keep a spare key in your purse, wallet or securely hidden somewhere on your vehicle. You can purchase small magnetic boxes that can hold a key and be hidden somewhere on your car. You can also leave an extra key with someone who could rescue you.

Buy a car with anti-lock out features. Many cars today are made so that the car will not lock with the power button if the keys are in the ignition or a door is ajar. Some vehicles also have keypads on the door that you can program a code into to unlock your door.

No key at all. If you have lost your key entirely, all is not lost. You will need a locksmith, but your cost will generally go up. And replacement keys, especially for computerized keys can become quite expensive.

Of course we would all like to avoid getting locked out of our vehicle, but it does happen. For more information visit Consumer Reports. Also, follow the tips above, should this happen to you and call your local New Jersey auto dealer, Sansone Jr’s 66 Automall. We would be happy to help any way we can!

5 Myths About Fuel-Economy New Jersey!

As you drive down the New Jersey road, you may notice that the price of gas at your nearest gas station is rather high these days. It also doesn’t seem to be getting any cheaper in the near future. We all want to get the most mileage out of each gallon of gasoline we put into our vehicle, and there are several ways you may have been told that you can do this. However, some of the advice you may think will save you gas are actually a myth.

Myth #1: Warm up your car before you drive.
Although this was true in the past, today’s vehicles with modern fuel injection do not require this. Your vehicle’s engine operates the best at its regular operating temperature, which can be reached by driving immediately.

Myth #2: Fill up in cool air to get more gas.
You may have heard that if you fill up in the morning when the air is cooler, the gasoline will be denser due to the temperature, and you will receive more gas for your money. However, many gas stations store their gasoline underground with very little temperature change.

Myth #3: Independent gas stations have lower quality fuel.
Although you may not recognize the name, independent stations generally buy their gas from large, name-brand oil companies. It shouldn’t be very different from a higher priced gas station.

Myth #4: Driving with your windows open will lower your fuel economy.
Some people believe that driving with your windows open lowers your fuel economy by affecting the vehicles aerodynamics. According to Consumer Reports, using your air conditioner at 65 miles per hour reduces your gas mileage by 3 miles per gallon, while there was no measurable difference on gas mileage with the windows open.

Myth #5: A dirty air filter will affect your gas mileage.
Although this may be true of older engines, modern engines today operate on computers. The computer will tell the engine exactly what the air/fuel ratio should be depending on how much air is actually coming through the filter.

For better gas mileage when it comes to your new or used vehicle, disregard any of these myths you may have been following. And visit us at your local New Jersey new and used auto dealer, Sansone Jr’s 66 Automall, for more fuel-efficient vehicles.

Come see the past in the present New Jersey!

As a kid growing up, I remember riding in my dad’s red & white1977 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.  It was a beautiful car: two-door, cherry red body, white top with white leather interior.  It was such a great car to take a drive in, cruising down the road with the windows down, and no responsibility in sight.  If you have memories like those, as I do, how would you like to revisit them this coming February, with a trip to the Atlantic City Classic Car Show and Auction?  Once we rang in the New Year, it’s back to our daily grind.  Why don’t you breath some new life into your New Jersey routine with a blast to the past!

Every New Jersey auto enthusiast will enjoy a visit out to the Atlantic City Classic Car Show and Auction.  Come see the history of auto making and the cars and models that shaped America.  From Cadillac’s to Chevrolet’s, all the classics will be there.   Aside from cars, you will be able to shop and browse for fenders, bumpers and special car parts among other items.  Also this year, the car show will be auctioning celebrity memorabilia in addition to their large selection of classics.

The Atlantic City Classic Car Show and Auction will be held at the Atlantic City Convention Center February 24-26, 2012.  Show hours are 8:30am – 9:00pm Friday and Saturday, and 9:00am – 5:00pm on Sunday.  Please see show details for auto and memorabilia auction hours and inventory.

After visiting the car show all of us here at Paul Sansone Jr’s 66 Automall would love for you to share all the fun you had, and relive your memories once again with us.  And when your looking to buy your next classic car of the future, and build some more great memories, come and see us at Sansone Jr’s 66 Automall.

Don’t Get Left Out in the Cold With a Dead Battery New Jersey!

Old man winter is definitely upon us!  As the weather temperature drops for us outside New Jersey, it’s time to take out the winter coats, gloves and hats.  Just as the cold weather is shocking to our system and requires us to keep warm, the same is true of your favorite Sansone Jr’s 66 Automall car’s battery.

The optimum temperature for your car’s battery is 80° F; at this temperature your battery is operating at 100 percent capacity.  By the time it reaches 0° F your battery is only operating at about 50 percent capacity.  The winter weather certainly affects your batteries power, and you wouldn’t want to end up with a dead battery in the middle of winter.  Thankfully, there are some things you can do to prevent this.

The best prevention for keeping your car battery operating as effectively as it can during the winter months is your garage.  Keeping your car out of the elements is always the most effective way of stopping damage to your car.  If however, this is not a possibility, you can invest in a battery heater to take you and your New Jersey car battery through the winter months.

The purpose of a battery heater is as it sounds: to keep your car’s battery warm and cozy throughout the long winter nights.  A battery heater can keep your car operating better during the winter, prolong the life of your car battery and make it easier to start your engine come morning.  There are several choices available when it comes to purchasing one, so check them out and see which one suits you and your automobile best.

Remember also, to have your battery checked by a professional to prevent and correct any wear and tear that may occur.  Stop by and see your friendly parts and service departments at Sansone Jr’s 66 Automall.  We can check out your battery and assist you with anything you may need.  We will be happy to help you and your battery stay warm this winter!

Sansone Jr’s 66 Kia Personnel: They are Top Notch

Good morning Mr. Sansone. This is Marsha R—nice to meet you.

In this day and age, it seems like everyone complains about the bad job that people do. Well, not me. I am not here to complain.

I am here today to let you know about the wonderful and dedicated staff that you have at Kia. They are top notch!. They deserve this recognition!

For the last week, my 19 year old son Justin has visited the showroom many times—he loved the Optima SX on display there.

Joann, his sales rep, was marvelous….She did not get impatient with him nor did she tune him out, since he was only 19—-she answered all of his questions on each and every visit, and worked with him every time he went into the showroom—she treated him with respect and kindness each and every time– and I truly admire her for these traits and her kindness.

On Saturday, I went into the showroom to purchase the car of Justin’s dreams, for Justin, and I had the MOST wonderful car buying experience.

Here is why.

Your staff is welcoming. Your staff is very professional, and not one of them acted like the sharks, that all other dealers employ. Your staff was respectful, kind, courteous and I am soooo happy and honored that I had a chance to meet all of these wonderful people that were there, in the showroom, on Saturday. They all showed me that there are still very good decent people in this world. They all cared that Justin did get the car that he wanted, and they were all excited for him—just like he was their own son.

I felt right at home, being a member of this wonderful Sansone Jr’s 66 Kia familyJ

Mr. Sansone—in closing, I want to thank you for a having a dealership where integrity and respect for the customer are still number 1.

I have high regards for the way your business is run and you should be VERY proud of the outstanding customer service that is offered there.

I am not there right now to give everyone of the people, that were there on Saturday, a pat on the back—so, please do it for meJ

I will be in this afternoon around 5:15 or so –hope I can meet you at this time.

Regards,

Marsha R.

Understanding the Importance of Your Credit Score

We have a lot of folks come through my dealership that don’t understand the importance of their credit score or even what their credit report consists of and how it affects buying a car. Your credit score determines if you can or cannot qualify for a car loan, a mortgage, a credit card and so much more. It’s very important to know what your credit score is and how to protect it. It’s pretty much your report card on how you’ve handled your finance for the past seven years. Pretty important stuff if you ask me!

So how does your credit score affect the car buying process? For the most part, it will affect the loan rate.  The closer your credit score is to 800 and not below 700, the greater chance of getting a good loan rate. However, if you have not so good credit you may end up with a higher rate. The beauty about this part is that if you decide to work on your credit first to ensure a good loan rate, then focused on a new car, you will likely get a higher rate.

In fact, whether you need a car today or simply want to improve your credit and have some time before you need a new car, contact me.  Sansone Jr’s 66 Automall has products to help with both scenarios.

So next time you are out car shopping, know what your credit score is so that you can make an informed purchasing decision.  Stop by today!

The Do’s and Don’ts to Keep Your Car’s Paint Looking Great!

Sometimes I am amazed at how many people don’t understand just how important it is to keep the outside of your car clean. Your vehicle is judged by its looks, so it is in your best interest to keep it in great shape and that is by washing it frequently.  Not only does it look great, but it will help the resale value of your car should you need to sell it or trade it in.

You can either take your car to the car wash or you can do it yourself.   If you are going to wash your own car, here are some great tips below:

DO’s:

  • Wash your vehicle by hand yourself when at all possible
  • Use fresh, clean water. Replace the water frequently during the washings
  • Wash your vehicle in the shade and when it’s the coolest part of the day such as morning or early evening
  • Use formulated car wash soap
  • Use a soft cloth or washing mitt
  • If possible use warm water
  • Spray the vehicle often with water throughout the washing
  • Wash and rinse one section of the vehicle at a time. You don’t want the soap to have a chance to dry on the paint
  • Dry the vehicle with a soft, scratch-free cloth
  • Wax the vehicle twice a year and only after it has been cleaned
  • Have any nicks or scratches repaired to keep it from rusting

DON’Ts:

  • Stay out of direct sunlight when washing your vehicle
  • Use special car wash soap, don’t use household detergents or soap as they are too abrasive
  • Don’t park under a tree when washing as you might get a special present from a bird or even sap from the tree
  • Don’s use brushes to clean with
  • Don’t wash the entire car once. Do it by sections.
  • Don’t let gasoline or antifreeze stay on the paint. Wash it off immediately with water.
  • Don’t follow vehicles too close as this puts your paint in danger of getting rocks thrown at it

If you have any great tips to keep your paint in great condition, we would love to hear from you! Just comment below, on our Facebook page or stop by Sansone Jr’s 66 Automall.

Bobby D is a spectacular salesman

June 28, 2011

Sansone Jr’s 66 Automall
3401 Route 66
Neptune, NJ 07753

Attn: Mr. Sean Lennon, General Manager

Dear Sean,

I just wanted to drop you a note on how spectacular your salesman Bobby D is. He was truly a pleasure to work with. He made sure all our concerns were taken care of and he was very patient while we searched your inventory.

We did have a small problem with the wait in finance but found out it was Larry’s first day so not a big deal those things happen.

Bobby noticed that the car detailing wasn’t up to par so he made sure we brought it back to be done over again.

If your company has a benchmark for sales people BOBBY D should be the example!

I also appreciate that you noticed that the finance wait was getting ridiculously long and gave us two free oil changes to make up for it. You truly do care about your customers.

I look forward to doing business in the future and will recommend your dealership to all my friends and family.

Sincerely,

Jim W.
