Lets pretend it’s a nice spring day. You’re driving down the street in your Nissan Altima, your windows are rolled down, the weather is warm and you have no one ahead of you on the road. Your mind may take you to a racetrack where you envision yourself speeding around again and again. You’re in the lead and then suddenly someone pulls in front of you. Back to reality: your Nissan Altima is not a racecar and you have just been cut off driving down the New Jersey turnpike. But who says daydreams can’t become reality?

Nissan has in fact made a race version of their Nissan Altima sedan for Nissan Motorsport and Australian touring car racing. The Nissan Altima V8 Supercars were revealed on February 12, 2013 at the Melbourne Showgrounds. Jack Daniels will sponsor two of the Altima Supercars of the four-car team, while Norton Anti-Virus will sponsor the remaining two. The Jack Daniels Altimas will bare the signature black and white of the company, while the Norton Anti-virus cars will don yellow and black. The drivers of the Norton Anti-virus Altima’s will be James Moffat and Michael Caruso while Todd and Rick Kelly, co-owners of Nissan Motorsport will get behind the wheel of Jack Daniels Altima’s.

The four Nissan Altima’s will hit the track on February 16 for pre-season test day with the 2013 V8 Supercars Championships officially starting March 1 at the Clipsal 500 at the Adelaide Parklands. Don’t fear that you won’t get a chance to see these Altima’s in action. The Nissan Motorsport team will hit U.S. soil May 17-19 for the V8 Supercars series, taking place at the new Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Even if you don’t get a chance to see these Nissan Altima’s in action, they may give you some inspiration for making your daydreams a reality. Stop Texting In Its Tracks New Jersey!

One of the biggest problems on today’s road is that of texting and driving. As a New Jersey parent I know all to well the fear and worry that you have for your children when they get behind the wheel with a cell phone. With the use of cell phones while driving being all to prevalent, you may wish there was a way you could control your teen’s ability to text and drive at the same time. Well, now there is a new device that does just that!

There is a new device available called TextBuster, which will prevent texting and surfing the Internet while driving, and Consumer Reports has given it a thumbs up. In order to use TextBuster, a small module is hidden under the dash and a downloadable phone app blocks the driver’s ability through Bluetooth to send or receive texts. The device only works when the vehicle’s engine is running and still gives the driver access to GPS and phone calls. TextBuster cannot be turned off as it is password protected and a passenger’s phone remains unaffected by the device. TextBuster is offered starting at $179 and will also alert you as the parent and/or account manager of any attempts to disable the device. The driver’s speed and route history is also tracked so you as a parent are aware of any speeding or driving that you were unaware of.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), texting and driving is one of the most distracted driving habits. It affects your mind, vision and reflexes while on the road. When sending or receiving a text and driving at the same time, your eyes are taken off the road for an average of 4.6 seconds. When driving at a speed of 55 miles per hour, this is the equivalent of driving the length of a football field. By using the TextBuster however, you may be able to stop some of the texting and driving that happens on the roads.

For more information on the TextBuster and all of its benefits, visit insideline.com. And stop into your local new and used New Jersey auto dealer, Sansone Jr’s 66 Automall, for your next automobile!

Nissan Juke NISMO Batman-Theme Debuts New Jersey!

At some point in their lives, most kids wish they were a super hero or at least had some super hero powers. Although this is something adults generally outgrow, who wouldn’t want to drive a super hero themed vehicle? Well, Nissan has a pulse on that.

To celebrate the third installment of the Dark Knight Rises Batman trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan’s, Nissan is making a one and only Batman themed Nissan Juke NISMO. Although only available outside of America until its debut here in the states, it doesn’t mean you can’t add it to your wish list! Nissan took the 197-horsepower Juke NISMO and gave it an exterior matte black finish and glossy black 18-inch wheels. They then accented these wheels with red paint. Both the grille and tailgate are decorated with aluminum bat badges and lights under both side mirrors, which project the bat symbol on the ground. As if that wasn’t enough, Nissan added a projector on the inside of the vehicle that illuminates the large batman alert signal onto the ceiling of this special edition Dark Knight Rises Juke.

Non-super hero consumers, as well as those who live here in the states, have the option of the Nissan Juke. Offered in 3 model types and 8 trim levels, the Juke starts at $19,900. If you do happen to live overseas, particularly in England, you have the opportunity to win this batman themed Juke NISMO. The contest is currently being conducted in the United Kingdom and will run through February 28, 2013. For more information on this contest and to enter, visit builttothrill.co.uk. Kia motors partnership with DC Entertainment and RIDES magazine has produced another customized vehicle, this time using the 2013 Kia Forte Koup. There are several super heroes of the Justice League that Kia will create custom inspired vehicles for, and four more were just revealed at the 2012 SEMA show which took place in Las Vegas, NV. These included The Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Green Lantern.

This 10-month partnership based on DC Comic Book super heroes in the Justice League, has used the 2013 Kia Forte Koup customizing it to represent The Flash. This super hero is considered to be the fastest man alive. The custom vehicles being produced are meant to raise awareness about DC Entertainment’s “We Can Be Heroes” campaign. Turbocharger Sales To Get A Boost New Jersey!

Are you a fan of turbocharged engines New Jersey? Do you like the extra power that a turbocharged engine puts out? If so, you are part of a growing trend in the automotive industry here in America. According to Honeywell Transportation Systems, a turbocharger manufacturer, the sales of turbocharged vehicles is expected to triple in the United States by the year 2017.

You may be wondering, what exactly is a turbocharger? A turbocharger or turbo is a forced induction device on a vehicle’s engine, which produces more power for any size engine. Turbochargers allow more oxygen and thus fuel to go into the engine, making it more powerful and efficient. Turbochargers were originally called turbosuperchargers, but were shortened to then name of today. Engines without a turbocharger are referred to as naturally/normally aspirated engines.

Although, automakers have been downsizing their engines to meet the stricter CAFÉ Standards (Corporate Average Fuel Economy), which call for increased fuel economy and reduced energy consumption, the sale of turbochargers has been on the rise. In 2011 1.3 million vehicles with turbocharged engines were sold by automakers. And this is expected to triple up to 4 million units or 25% of the market by 2017. Even though automakers have to meet the CAFÉ Standards, they have adopted downsized powertrains with turbochargers.

Turbocharger sales have also been on the upswing in the European, Chinese and Indian markets. There the sales are expected to increase 17.4 million, 6.7 million and 3 million units respectively. As many vehicles are bought with turbochargers already installed, many vehicle owners install them after market to increase the power of their vehicles engine. 66 MVP (Motor Vehicle Performance), your local New Jersey facility, is just the spot where you can bring your vehicle in for performance enhancements. Check us out at 66mvp.com. And for more information on the revved up sales of turbochargers, visit motortrend.com.

Kia Debuts Their Very Own “Batmobile” New Jersey!

Have you ever sat through a Batman movie and thought to your self, “That is one cool car; if only it really existed…?” Well, the “Batmobile” is now as real as it’s ever going to get. Kia motors have teamed with DC Entertainment and RIDES magazine to create real-life Batmobile using the Kia Optima. This super hero vehicle goes on display this week at the Time Warner Center in New York City.

This is the beginning of a 10-month partnership based on the DC Comic Book super heroes in the Justice League. The vehicles based on the artwork of comic book artist Jim Lee, are meant to raise awareness about DC Entertainment’s “We Can Be Heroes” campaign. This campaign is a relief effort to fight hunger in the Horn of Africa.

Kia’s “Batmobile” starts with the Optima SX featuring a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, with 274 horsepower and 6,000 rpm. This can bring the Optima SX up to 60 miles per hour in 6.5 seconds but still maintain fuel economy of 22 miles per gallon in the city and 34 miles per gallon on the highway. To transform the Optima into the “Batmobile,” there were no engine modifications, but lowered coil-over suspension and Ksport performance brakes were added. On the outside Kia painted the exterior a matte and piano black color combination and added 20-inch black wheels wrapped in a low-profile rubber. The grille of the Optima was designed in the shape of the batman logo and the “Kia” logo was also replaced by the batman logo. And yellow LED lights run under the vehicle with the bat signal imprinted into the HD headlights.

On the inside of the Optima, Kia covered it with custom black leather and suede with yellow accent stitching maintaining the batman colors. The trunk even contains a “Bat Suit,” and the center console a set of throwing stars. Two video screens were installed on the front headrests, which will play a video while the “Batmobile” is on display. This will let people know how they can become involved in the “We Can Be Heroes” project.
